The Benefits Of Web-Based Testing

Assess Skills To Target Learning Needs

Prior to beginning any course such as Microsoft Word Level 1, students can choose to take a Prescriptive Test (also called a "Pre-Test").  The Pre-Test will evaluate their score and then list those lessons that were not passed when the student takes (or retakes) that same course.   This streamlines the learning process by eliminating the need for training on topics the student is already proficient on.  It is also an invaluable screening tool for instructor-led training to accurately place students in the most appropriate level classes.

Testing To Measure Or Grade Results

The Web-Based Testing available for each course can evaluate how much a student knows before or after completing the training.  The test for a particular course is called a "Pre-Test" if the student has not yet completed the training for that course; once that course training has been completed then the test for that course is called a "Post-Test".  The testing is valuable for measuring improvement, determining the proficiency level of the student, and as a tool to reinforce learning.  The "student report card" that is generated each time a test is completed summarizes all the test result information, and provides scoring that can include letter grades customizable to any desired grading scheme.  This makes the Web-Based Training also an excellent, ready-to-go curriculum that Schools can easily implement to offer comprehensive computer training courses.

Provides Consistent Organization-Wide Standards

The Web-Based Training curriculum insures that an organization can provide its employees all the same consistent standard of high quality training. One of the drawbacks of instructor-led training can be that the quality of instruction varies greatly depending on the particular instructor and/or the content provided, plus after the classroom training is done there often is no easy way to determine what students have learned or for them to practice or review the information.  Web-Based Training & Testing eliminates these concerns and takes the guesswork from this process.  It gives organizations the means to insure their employees develop and maintain whatever standard of computer proficiency is desired.

Tests Can Be Customized

Each time student takes a test, they may customize the Web-Based Testing to include only those lessons they wish to cover.

No Plugin Required For Testing

The Web-Based Testing does NOT require downloading the Authorware Web Player plugin in order for you to take any of the tests.  This means that you can immediately access the Web-Based Testing from any computer anywhere that is connected to the Internet without having to first download the plugin.  Currently, the Web-Based Training does require the Authorware Web-Player plugin, but very soon that will also no longer be required.
